    What are 50/20, 55/15, 65/20 Exemptions?

    USCIS provides exceptions and modifications to the naturalization requirements that are available to those who qualify. 

    If you are above certain age and lived in the United States lawfully over a period of time, you are exempted from the English test and can take the Civics test in your own language.

    For applicants who are age 65 and older and have been a permanent resident for at least 20 years, you are only required to study 20 of the 100 civics test questions.
